Get your new ventures to market on time and on budget
You feel you’ve worked out what new products or services you want to develop and launch, but you think the process is taking too long and costing too much. If you don’t act quickly, your competition may beat you to market or the market may just move in a completely different direction.
Alternatively, you feel your expensive development team just aren’t making the most of the ventures they are working on and you don’t want to throw more people into the mix. The monthly development meeting just doesn’t seem to be making enough progress. (“Didn’t we discuss that last month?”)
Companies often underestimate the complexities of venturing. We find companies that make venturing the sole preserve of “marketing” or “technical”, but it has to be a multi-disciplinary responsibility. People often fail to realise that ventures usually have to “mutate” as they develop: products are never perfectly formed at birth! Other companies put too many eggs into one basket and then, when someone drops the basket….. Having too few ventures in the pipeline is as much a problem as having too many.
